Mental health professionals recognize that spiritual and religious well-being may help cancer patients, families, and caregivers cope with cancer and spiritual distress. Research has shown that there are positive benefits for those whose faith sustains them in difficult times. It is also true that some religious beliefs can cause distress to those facing crisis. This presentation will address both the positive and challenging aspects of spirituality while living with a cancer diagnosis.
